6) Key Largo Jan 24-31

Saturday, Jan 24
Woke up to the dive boat loading scuba tanks onto their boats for the day. Beautiful sunny morning! This marina offers free continental breakfast with hot coffee. Our view was someone who takes politics seriously.
The best part of the day was Ken and JoAnn Smit were traveling by and stopped by for lunch! So good seeing them!
Manatee swimming in the marina.
The day was spent doing laundry and getting to know the resort. There are 3 hotels, 4 pools, 4 restaurants and 2 fitness centers.

The "shark" is a replica of one caught just off Key Largo in 1979.

Every day the fishing charters come in with their fish. The Captains clean and filet them, throwing the scraps to the pelicans. 2 years ago when we were here there were sharks also swimming among the pelicans.

Walked 2 miles to Publix for groceries. Saw our first rooster. Kim's backpack hit a new record of 60 pounds. I am amazed that his back can handle that. Spent the rest of the day at the pool. Life is good!

Thursday, Jan. 29-Saturday, Jan. 31

It's been cold, windy, rainy. So we are walking in between rain burst, doing small boat projects, NYU work, laundry, cooking comfort food and relaxing.
