7) Feb. 1-15 Still in Key Largo
Sunday, Feb. 1
After a very cold and wind night we woke up to sun, wind and 40 degrees. Decided to go for a brisk walk. And this is the site we saw.
Dead, frozen Iguanas everywhere. They fell out of the trees. I almost stepped on several. Florida posted that you could scoop them up in garbage bags and drop them off at various centers for deposal or have new shoes also! LOL!
Feb. 2-7
Picked up a rental car and drove to Duck Key to spend a couple of days with Cary and Cheryl Masters and of course Milo. They have a beautiful place on a canal on Duck Key. Ate good food (Stone crab claws), laughed a lot, toured Duck Key in their boat. Such a good time!
Went by a dolphin training site.
Saturday, Feb. 7Did some NYU work, then walked for 4 miles, pool time and then a late lunch at Skippers. Saw a huge manatee sunbathing in the marina.
Sunday, Feb. 8
I guess you could say our days are like Groundhog's Day, the movie. We get up, do boat work/NYU work, walk, go to the pool, watch all the fishing boats, scuba/dive boats, The Princess-glass bottom boat, return to the marina.
Gotta love those mailboxes!
Iguanas in the pool!??!!!
Found the famous Lobster statue and shopped in the cute shops at same location.
Friday, Feb. 6A cold front went through last night so we are back in sweatshirts and jeans. Decided to walk to Shell World which is 2.5 miles away. Things we saw on our way. The sea doos in the parking lot was so fun and those guys were having so much fun! Anthony's is a store Cheryl Masters introduced me to. Great swimsuits!
Feb. 12-14As you can tell, not a whole lot has been happening these last few days. Here are a few pictures of our walks we do every day.
More mailboxes.
We found a house built like a huge boat.
The fishing boat on the left has 4 flags put up. They represent the sailfish caught today.
The Trump Boat was out and about. I had to alter the audio. Their song choice wasn't my taste. :(
Night view from our boat in the canal we are docked in.
Monday, Feb. 9On our walk we found more mailboxes and a fish market. The dive boats make two trips a day.
Wednesday, Feb. 11Not much new to post. Watching iguanas and all the boat activity.
Info on the African Queenhttps://africanqueenflkeys.com/Cruise
This small boat goes by us 2-4 times a day touring the canals. It's the original boat from the movie "African Queen". We have not taken the tour but a lot of people do.
So this is THE boat. It's right in front of us. There is a LOT of foot traffic that doesn't even see us as they walk by because of this boat.
